The days leading to 4th Nov
Last weekend, we went out for the family dinner we havent had in years – also one of my happiest family dinners cum birthday celebrations! So much so that it deserves a separate post on its own. This weekend latest, i promise. Too tired to blog much now.

I was kinda hoping for something like this but wasnt expecting/ putting my hopes too high.
And then it happened!

Received a bunch of my favourite blue roses from the fiance via courier!
Its a really pretty bouquet of blues with a cushy heart in the middle!
Chucked it in my pensholder so that it can stand in glory on my desk. Haha

Things To Do On An Elevator
1) CRACK open your briefcase or handbag, peer Inside and ask “Got enough air in there?”
2) STAND silent and motionless in the corner facing the wall without getting off.
3) WHEN arriving at your floor, grunt and strain to yank the doors open, then act as if you’re embarrassed when they open themselves.
4) GREET everyone with a warm handshake and ask him or her to call you Admiral.
5) MEOW occasionally.
6) STARE At another passenger for a while. Then announce in horror: “You’re one of THEM” – and back away slowly
7) SAY -DING at each floor.
8) SAY “I wonder what all these do?” And push all the red buttons.
9) MAKE explosion noises when anyone presses a button.
10) STARE, grinning at another passenger for a while, then announce: “I have new socks on.”
11) WHEN the elevator is silent, look around and ask: “Is that your beeper?”
12) TRY to make personal calls on the emergency phone.
13) DRAW a little square on the floor with chalk and announce to the other passengers: “This is my personal space.”
14) WHEN there’s only one other person in the elevator, tap them on the shoulder, then pretend it wasn’t you.
15) PUSH the buttons and pretend they give you a shock. Smile, and go back for more.
16) ASK if you can push the button for other people but push the wrong ones.
17) HOLD the doors open and say you’re waiting for your friend. After a while, let the doors close and say “Hi Greg, How’s your day been?”
18) DROP a pen and wail until someone reaches to help pick it up, then scream: “That’s mine!”
19) BRING a camera and take pictures of everyone in the lift.
20) PRETEND you’re a flight attendant and review emergency procedures and exits with the Passengers.
21) SWAT at flies that don’t exist.
22) CALL out “Group hug” then enforce it.
The hobby
I havent had much time to start scrapbooking yet…
Instead, i’ve picked up a hobby that is much milder but yet, as enjoyable and fun as it could possibly get at this point of time — Making cards for friends and loved ones! :)
It takes away my stress at the end of the day and is strangely therapeutic and soothing to the soul.
I’ve never looked fwd to other people ‘s birthdays as much as now! Haha :b
Messiness has a whole new meaning
Hello everybody.
Introducing you to my “new” workstation at home.
The messy floor.
Surrounded by this and that, there is a dedicated area (a.k.a parking space) for the bum which also happens to be the only available space on the floor which is safe for passing feet to tread on.
This has everything to do with the new hobby junney’s just picked up this few days.
Within 1 weekend, precious money have been blasted on cutesy/artsy/awesome things that can be used to distract her from other eviler thngs, such as online shopping, procrastinating, facebooking, and bejeweled blitzing.
At the very least, it is a more constructive use of time.
But i know its gonna be much more than that.
Afterall, i used to be an artsy student since p.sch days.
Ooh and all those ribbons, stickers and other embellishment are sooo pretty :)
I cant wait to start working on them!
Now… *rub hands*

Cats on cars
Was on my way home from a bowling session with my CS colleagues and evening yoga session when I saw this peculiar but kinda funny sight at the carpark.
Looking snug and comfy eh?
The cute thing is that they were in that exact same posture, almost as though someone had placed them there for a photoshoot. But no, these were strays. Albeit ‘owned’ strays. Contradicting huh. Some woman (the catfeeder) goes about her rounds every morning and night, sustaining and helping the cat population around my house to balloon.
I hope she does their nails too.

I was in the mood for localized springcleaning this evening and the pens that were chucked in all corners of my room were irritating the heck out of me.
So I rummaged through my quarters, and lo and behold, i was staring at a whole mountain of pens – some of them with a lifespan of maybe about 10 years so far. [YAH i know right!] Its crazy, but really fun. Its abit of an OCD, cos sometimes i can go without food water pee poop and sleep for hours whenever i have an urge like this.
And then i tested each and every pen on a piece of scrap paper, threw those which have dried up over the decade, and organized them according to color into 2 IKEA holders.
Nice.
I can go to bed now.

BEG and 2AM
I’ve been listening to BEG (Brown Eyed Girls) since the Abracadabra days and have been especially smitten by Ga-in and Narsha for their adorable personalities and pretty vocals…
THEN, I recently got introduced to 2AM and have been hooooked since – JO KWON IS SOOOO CUTE!
I know im wayyy past the boyband/girlband age but omg not only they have powerful ballad vocals, KWONNIE is a super duper dance machine! And he’s so unbelievably lovable too. *SCREAMS!*
Haha Kwonnie and Ga-in have been doing this reality show called “we got married” and i’ve had alot of fun watching them “get married” and “leading a married life”… Just so darn cute and funny. I realllly love them! haha

These are majorly cute!
These animals, created using the tube lines, stations and junctions of the London Underground map were first spotted by Paul Middlewick in 1988. The original animal, the elephant was discovered while Paul was staring at the tube map during his daily journey home from work.

Silly daddy
Today i managed to have a nice and homely lunch at home with my family, one day before i was due for London. :) -blissful sigh- Really praise the Lord for giving me this day of rest before my long haul.
Gugu cooked some simple dishes and sister came over with soup, salmon and some veggies. One of the dishes was gugu’s steamed egg with mince chicken. When didi tried to scoop out the egg, he was taken aback by its ‘toughness’, cos, as you know, steamed egg is supposed to be smooth and soft.
So then he commented, “wah how come this steam egg so hard one!”
“Aiyoh cos i mixed minced chicken inside ma..” Gugu replied.
Lynne then remarked, “Haha so funny, never see steamed egg with minced chicken before.”
At this point, Daddy replied almost instinctively, “ 鸡蛋 ma…”

There was a momentary silence surrounding the table.
And then we all burst out laughing.

It seems like wordpress has changed its look & functionality over the past few weeks!
I love how my newly revamped theme (journalist) looks like now – including the fonts, the size of the text, the spacings, the pictures, tags, comments and everything that you see on my blog. No complaints about ease of posting and publishing either. Not forgetting, its ability to lock individual posts when necessary.
Woo, wordpress is awesome.
Anyways, how was your Chinese New Year you guys? :)
Mine was… okay. I must have really grown up. CNY doesnt seem like so much fun anymore. All my cousins are now taller than me & tapping away at their PSPs… if not for my little aunt’s 4 noisy baby boys, it would have been pretty dreary. Kids make all the difference, does it not?
While we’re on that topic, during the CNY gathering, my 3rd aunt mentioned to me that kids inject some kinda meaning into your life. See, without a kid, 10 years will just zip by without much of a change. Especially the phase between 25-35. I mean, there aint gonna be very much difference except for a coupla wrinkles, a few strands of white hair. But with a kid, alot can change within 1 year. The little tot can grow twice its height every CNY. You get to see the fruits of your labour in true, solid form. Very true, no? Food for thought for today.
