Cant deny, cant lie, cant really face the truth.

friends

Back from retreat! :)

I havent been to many church retreat camps – but this one had definitely been one of the best! Although I was reeaaallly sick on the first day, it didnt dampen the mood very much. Thank God!

At first, 4 day and 3 nights may seem to be a slightly long, but thankfully it was not boring at all. There’s ample time to bond with God and my family in Christ, and I loved getting to know all my brothers and sisters a little bit better! It was the first time going as a “daoshi”, but it wasnt very much different from being a bigbricker i think… all my bigbrickers were like big brothers and sisters to the small ones and it was really heartening to see us all bonding so comfortably during camp :)

More next time! Gotta pack my luggage for Manila tomorrow!

I will be still and know you are God

One of my favourite songs. :)

Still
Words and Music by Reuben Morga
n

Hide me now
Under your wings
Cover me
within your mighty hand

When the oceans rise and thunders roar
I will soar with you above the storm
Father you are king over the flood
I will be still, know you are God

Find rest my soul
In Christ alone
Know his power
In quietness and trust

When the oceans rise and thunders roar
I will soar with you above the storm
Father you are king over the flood
I will be still, know you are God

I will be still and know you are God

T.G.I.F!

I realised I hardly bring my camera around anymore – so lazy! Ever since I got an iphone i just used the camera function and that was it. Haha… its bad… I should at least bring it out with I meet up with friends. :\

So 2 weeks back I finally met up with Liling and Jieying after a superly long time.

I’m so glad we decided to FIX a date to make this happen! :))

We had our dinner at T.G.I.F @ Heerens. I am such a noob nowadays, cant keep up with the times already. Am i really getting that old?? I didnt know that TGIF was at the side of Heerens… I thought it was still the Balcony! Haha.

We had yummy Jack Daniels Chicken, Shrimps and Salmon.. hmm abit pricey but the experience and the company was totally worth it :) We had some girl-talking going on and then dropped by KPO for a drink after dinner.KPO a really cool place to hang out for a nice bottle of beer and a fruity glass of wine! :)

So much has happened since we last met up.. which was before the girls left DT I think! Gosh that’s realllyy long. Anyway, they’re looking as gorgeous as ever but even more radiant than when they were still doing audit. Like happier, and less shag looking. I should really leave soon. Haha.

Ying was wearing freshlook colorblends that day… Apparently she got them from M’sia at cheap cheap, and she looks soo pretty in them! They cost like $42 for a pair of monthlies in Singapore – wayyy too expensive for me. Grey and hazel are my favourites, if only I could find some way to buy loads of them at an affordable price… hmm.

In other news,  Liling justtt went for her lasik last week… Brave girl! I wanted to do it when i was younger, so I dont have to worry about the sweat and all that irritating my eyes while wearing contacts during sports.. and it seems to be more cost saving in the long run as well. But hmm. I’m quite scared cos I heard that some people’s eyes who are more sensitive will be prone to infections and prolonged pain. OUCH MAN. My eyes have always been more sensitive and more easily irritated than others… And well, my sister also contributed to the fear when she described the op process as “being able to see whats happening and when the laser cuts tru, u can smell the burning of ur cornea and your eyes will be wobbling like tofu!

HURRRRR… so scary!

Anyways, since then, Ying has so awesomely managed to get some freshlook from me through her friend in M’sia… THANKS BABE! And Liling’s eyes are recovering pretty well.. except for the dryness :)

Hope we can meet up again soon babes!

Hollandaise sauce?

Last Saturday, I had a birthday brunch with bestie shuwie at Relish! Cluny Court.

Happy birthday babe! Twas great meeting you again, finally! :)))

It was also the first time I heard about this Hollandaise Sauce.

See those stuff on her eggs benedict?

Its called Hollandaise sauce – which is an emulsion of egg yolk and butter, usually seasoned with lemon juice, salt, and a little white pepper or cayenne pepper. It is smooth and creamy and the flavor is rich and buttery, with a mild tang added by the seasonings, yet not so strong as to overpower mildly-flavored foods. [wiki]

Yumz!

A closer look at her delicious eggs benedict brunch…

The baked potato cubes on the side were like the yummiest ‘hashbrown-equivalents’ i have ever tasted! Oh gosh just looking at them again is making me hungry.

I had the beef steak sandwich below…

You could choose from a side of mesclun salad (which was what i had) and fries.

It was also fantastically scrumptious!

I am definitely gonna frequent this quaint little place called Relish from now on.

They’re most well-known for their awesome tasting burgers, and i so wanted to try their pancake stacks! Unfortunately I was already too full by then (shuwie like gave me half her eggs benedict)… and as much I could eat like a cow for brunches, for some reason I was just so nicely satisfied that I didnt wanna overdo it! We can always try it when we drop by Relish again dear! :)

Til next time then! :)

Yizhi’s birthday

Firstly, thank God for blessing zhizhi with 18 years of wonderful life in His loving care.

2ndly, thank God that Junheng’s recovery had been pretty good thus far…

He came down to join us for zhizhi’s birthday celebration today!

Love this pic that photographer enqing took – what a brilliant, happy smile!

Another lovely shot of the birthday girl.

Here’s the cutesy Ang Family!

Coincidentally Meiyu’s sister (Aunty Meifeng) was my dad’s secondary schoolmate! What a small small world. She’s really cute and fun to chat to as well. The ang family is really blessed by the Lord – they love and support each other and most of all, they live a God-centred life and have touched many non-Christians around them. Am envious! But if God is willing, one day perhaps my family will be like theirs too. Praying real hard for that day to come.

The entire big+small bricks family!

And becos enqing was behind the lenses for this pic…

Here’s one to compensate for that!

Would have superimposed him into the pic above but unfortunately old people like myself are slightly behind, technologically. Haha

Haha Junheng looks good huh.

He still has energy and mood to play around with his cheeky sister. :)

Thank God for his recovery so far :) But because this road to recovery will not be a very short one, we will all be remembering and supporting him in our prayers! Do hope he gets enough rest these few weeks so that his body will be receptive to the grafting process for his hands & fingers, and all will go according to God’s (& the Doctor’s) plan!

Junheng jiayou!

*waves pompom*

Be strong, and have faith!

You can do it! :)

Miracles

Dont be afraid, Just believe.

21When Jesus had again crossed over by boat to the other side of the lake, a large crowd gathered around him while he was by the lake. 22Then one of the synagogue rulers, named Jairus, came there. Seeing Jesus, he fell at his feet 23and pleaded earnestly with him, “My little daughter is dying. Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live.” 24So Jesus went with him.

A large crowd followed and pressed around him. 25And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. 26She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. 27When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, 28because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” 29Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.

30At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?”

31“You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ “

32But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. 33Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. 34He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”

35While Jesus was still speaking, some men came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue ruler. “Your daughter is dead,” they said. “Why bother the teacher any more?”

36Ignoring what they said, Jesus told the synagogue ruler, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.”

37He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James and John the brother of James. 38When they came to the home of the synagogue ruler, Jesus saw a commotion, with people crying and wailing loudly. 39He went in and said to them, “Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.” 40But they laughed at him.
After he put them all out, he took the child’s father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was. 41He took her by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum!” (which means, “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”). 42Immediately the girl stood up and walked around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished. 43He gave strict orders not to let anyone know about this, and told them to give her something to eat.

- Mark 5

Dear Lord, we believe in You.

We entrust our brother in Your mighty hands, knowing that you do love him so, and that you have great plans for him. Please restore him according to Your will, in full glory of You Lord, so that he may be a blessing to his fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, and to everyone else around him. Please help him strengthen his faith in You, take away his fears and anxieties, help him be still, and know that You are God. There may be many questions at this point, Lord, all of which we do not know the answers to… but we do acknowledge that since you have allowed this to happen, you will grant Jairus sufficient grace and power to overcome all that comes his way. We thank you Lord, for bringing him out of the valley of death and giving a new lease of life. We trust that you will take his hand through this and that you will never forsake him, no matter what happens. If need be Lord, please help us help him and his family through this trying times, and let us all be united as one in Your love and glorify Your name as we brave this together.

We pray all these in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Back from Bangladesh

So much has happened since I returned from Bangladesh!

Of cos, that in itself is already an awesome experience – which i will definitely blog about in due course. :)

Had a gathering with my RGS410’2001 girls last sunday, and a fellowship christmas thing just tonight.

They were both great and I realize i enjoy organising such gatherings/functions quite abit!

Although i busy myself silly sometimes, i really enjoy the company of the people i love. :)

Workaholic, Shoppaholic, Chocoholic, Bookaholic

2.30am is a coupla minutes away and i lay wondering why im not asleep yet.

The past 2 hours had been spent typing away at my work lappie, planning engagements… allocating work to assistants…. I dont know where I got the energy from – but even after a day of what seemed like a flurry of activites, i still managed to get some stuff done.

Such a workaholic.

Gordon and I went down to the SKS bookstore early this morning & we bought a heap of awesome books at great prices. I dont normally have book crazes as much as i do for clothes, but i just didnt seem like myself today – spent a whooping $120 on 5 books, a study bible, and 1 tiny wallet NT bible! Nonetheless, totally worth it imho. :)

Lunch was at York Hotel off Mt Elizabeth – not as nice as we expected, but was glad to try smtg new for a change. Thanks dear for suggesting the place. :)

We caught mom and dad doing last minute packing for their cruise to Vietnam and Hong Kong. Silly daddy has a thing for cruises. He hates plane rides. Anyways, decided to fetch them to harbourfront to save them some trouble of hailing a cab… Gordon was also being a great helper by helping them with their luggages all the way. Bumped into my bro and his gf – who just came back from a swim – and he managed a goodbye hug for the parents before they left… am glad he did cos i could see my mom beaming in joy. Think he hasnt hugged her for eons already – they seem to be on loggerheads most of the time. Anw, mom & dad tot he only hugged them cos he followed my footsteps – which was a good thing right? I should be more conscious in setting a good example in front of him from now on. :)

After dropping off mom and dad, gordon and i went down to IMM to check out timberland boots for his work. But instead of grabbing a pair of boots, we went around and got ourselves a couple of ding dongs here and there within an hour. The daiso at IMM was awesome – I went crazy with cutesy wrappers!

Then we went home, had some chocolate brownies, took a nap, and off i went to Peishan’s wedding dinner at four seasons hotel. It was a small and simple affair… pretty heartwarming nonetheless. twas great seeing her so happily married to terence – they were so in love that nothing else really mattered. A simple proposal did the trick – and everything else just fell into place. Cheers to a happily ever after! I was sitting together with some of my DT colleagues, but made 2 new friends as well who were peishie’s rockclimbing smu buddies. Lovely people – hailing and weizhong. We exchanged contacts so hope we do make an effort to keep in touch!

Thats my day in a nutshell… urps i better get to bed now! :)

Is this chargeable time?

A photoblog of the birthday surprise so sweetly planned, thought out and organised for me by the philippines team – collaborated by the awesome on-site managers i have. They are truly the best company i can hope for in a faraway land.

Junnebug, caught by surprise, bashfully bows her head in embarrassment and joy all at once.

How long has it been since i had a birthday surprise planned for me!

Junnebug in sheer happiness & a pinch of shock.

Seriously – how sweet can they get!

They pooled everyone to write their birthday greetings to me in this cute little book with photo collages of everyone in the team. Thats alot of people, and alot of effort!

Junnebug not quite certain how to express her thanks to everyone.

They even blew balloons for the occasion! :D

Pretty pretty balloons~ I love feeling like a kid again.

At some point, the big boss walks in and asks:

Wow. Is this chargeable time?”

Err…

Nope.

But its a free morale booster to junnebug – if that means anything to you! :p

Somebody was being a killjoy by being hard at work during this short 15 min celebration stint.

Kua kua kua…

The loans girls and joby.

My loans team – main mastermind behind this lovely surprise. :)))

This pic rocks cos ali looks ecstatic! :)

Junney and the treasury team!

Junnebug got a little bit high and crazy.

Junney with the “Others” team. :)

And then 15 mins later, the managers got right back to work.

But wait, there’s more!

Why was Ali sniggering!

Because…

*GASPPP*

The four managers bought me a pair of ALDO killer 4 inch heels!!!

Its gorgeous and in my size. Haha. Amazinggg.

Sherly’s mom brought this all the way from the province – 4 hours away!

Girlie – who just got promoted to seniordom.

Feris and I went to share the love with my dearest clients.

Lovely emma with a beautiful backdrop of the gigantic place i work at.

The controllers group!

And that was it – the day ended just like it did any other day. Just that i had a great tea break with lotsa cake, krispy creme donuts, and a whole lot of love.

Thank you everyone – who made 4 Nov truly special for me.

And thank you God, for watching over me this 24 years of my life – and counting. :)

The weekend before

A Photoblog of the weekend before my birthday – and the precious people who made it one of the best birthday weekends ever.

8:30am – Waiting for Shuwie outside her house. Only a best friend will get out of bed so early on a Saturday morning to go blading at East Coast Park with me.

9:30am – Shared a coffeebean breakfast with awesome earl grey tea and out on the tracks we went!

I love my blue grey rollerblades.

I love this pic! Haha

FUN TIMES!

Think Im gonna make saturday blading sessions a way of life :)

Anyone wants to join me?

12:00pm – Reached home with a darling boyfriend waiting for me at the void deck (who was being stared at by weird uncles bumming around) with a tiny bouquet of my favourite blue roses. Quickly bathed and dressed up for our lunch date.

The boy revealed a modestly wrapped pressie in a dodgy looking plastic bag (from a bookstore) which really got me guessing – what in the world? Did you get me a Christian book? (I pressed it and shaked it, felt kneadable.) Is it a… shirt/dress/towel… =.=” (and then i unwrapped the first layer of plastic and behold, it was a black thing.) Oooh, you got me a pouch!

And then, i flipped it around.

And the gold metal label said hello to me.

He got me… A COACH WRISTLET!

I almost fainted.

Me loves!

Am using it at this very moment – everyday! It is black & very practical, just like anything he would buy for me – doesnt get dirty easily and is big enough for my barang barangs. My wallet, camera, handphone and keys currently live in it. And they are very happy. :)

Thank you love! :)

Aint nobody gonna pry you away from me, dear wristlet!

Me and you.

All day breakfast – it contains the yummiest grain bread around.

Dinner at Boss Society Vivocity!

Food was quite delicious.

Cannot take pictures of food, so take ourselves lor. :))

Sunday after church: met up with dear Joanne and Mr B, who were the best hosts ever during my short stint with them in the UK – should have stayed with them from the very beginning of my trip.

If only i could turn back time…

But sticking with you is something I will never change even if i can turn back time. :)

My dearest neighbour bought me the owl pillow i was beoing for so long at Camden Market, UK! oh my – i was so touched she actually went back there to buy it for me! Note to self – get dear joanne a pressie worthy of her for her birthday next year.

Sunday night – the traditional cake cutting and candle blowing at home. Something i took for granted year after year. It actually was so much more meaningful to me this year when i could have a celebration with my loved ones close by – amplified by my frequent trips to the phils. So in a way, thank God for making me realise how much i have taken this simple annual celebrations for granted, and how much i really enjoy it deep inside.

And look!

A personalised birthday cake made with awesome chocolate truffle & raspberries! Mmm yummiest.

I heart mi familia. :)

And I heart youuuu. :)

Byebye Yingz :’(

….And a couple more of my darling batchmates!

Within these 2+ months stranded in the obscure land of  pinoys, i have missed a whole chuck of colleagues whom i have not been able to bid farewell to on their last days.

That includes my dearest GFSIan “ah shen”…And others, like darren, ben, keah… and others who will be leaving - sarah, dez, nicole, normy… etc.. sobsob. I start to think when it will be my turn. But then again, how to find jobs when im stuck in the philippines? kuakua…

But I will never forget you guys – this will not be the last goodbye! Especially yingz and ahshen, i’ll jio you all out when im finally back in singapore ok! :)

Miss you all.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUNNEBUG

The 4 dude managers bought me a pair of ALDO heels for my birthday! IN MY SIZE. Wonder how they managed to do that… i probably divulged my shoe size unknowingly…but its a huge risk to buy a pair of shoes for someone!!! Anyway, how did they know i liked ALDO? Too many questions. Too little time. Therefore, i shall just act blur and be happy :)))

During the day, my Makati colleagues pakah with Ali and Bobby and sprung me a little surprise during tea time. So sweet of them! :) More updates when i get the pics from Sherly’s camera!

Happy November 2009!

This weekend was possibly one of the best i’ve ever had :)

It could have been better if I could make it for the GFSI BBQ on saturday too; but ah… let’s just be satisfied with what one can do within the last 48 hours… :)

I spent loadsa quality time with mainly my family and the boy in celebration of all of my 24 years of life. An utterly gratifying weekend with heart to heart talks, yummilicious food, and simple but pleasurable activities. In between, I crammed in an early morning blading session with my bestie shuwie, where we managed a full hour of blades of fury following a shared portion of salmon scrambled eggs on toast & heavenly tasting earl grey tea. Pics to follow :)

What is a birthday without my favourite blue roses! The boy got me a tiny but sweet bouquet this year and he absolutely bowled me over when he revealed a very modestly wrapped birthday gift with a GEM inside. Guess what he gave me!

Happy birthday to me! :)

He brought me to olio dome for brunch after that, and the food was without a doubt, delectable. :) Being the busy bee he is, he rushed off to church for his meeting and i went home to do a little bit of unpacking and laundry in preparation of the next 2 weeks in Manila. But we met up for dinner again – and we tried out “Boss Society” or something (or Hei She Hui) at Vivo City. Not too bad i’d say!

I’d love to continue logging my wunnderful weekend – unfortunately duty calls and i have to pack my luggage already. Im flying off to Manila again tomorrow and this time, i wont be back for another 2 weeks.

But I WILL update! Thats for sure! And with pictures too!

Goodnight peeps!

Friendship

Quote of the day from DJ Kay.

After 10 years of friendship. 1 of my friends – whom i’ve always regarded as one of my bestest girlfriends – seemed to give up trying to make it work. Was it because of that misunderstanding? Was it because you have moved on to a new exciting phase of your life? Or was it because of… well, just me? Whatever it was – there was no communication, no explanations, not even a sound from your end. I tried. But somehow, I had an inertia to try too too hard - I felt we both have some responsibilites to bear. Sadly, when i did get through to her those few times, I sense the awkwardness, the reservations, the…slight tinge of hostility. Which put me off on top of my weariness from trying.

I hope im imagining things. But I am so tired of the silence. I am scarred from the brunt of your other half, but you dont seem to even bother to talk to me about it, or comfort me in any way. I am emotionally burdened from keeping this up – like nothing has happened, like time will make everything go away. Like hell it would. No – Time does not heal ALL wounds. Anyway, if this is your decision to stay this way, I wish you both all the best. I think I need to let go and move on from here.

Sigh.

NONETHELESS.

I thank God for my other girlfriends who put a smile back on my face. :)

Especially you, who weathered storms with me, and gone through periods with little contact, but emerging as close as ever all the same. Growing up together. Going crazy together. Bitching about life together (oops! mild harmless bitching only! :p) Suppers. Drinks. Confiding in each other. You who are always on standby for me.

If you’re one of them – You know who you are. :)

Thanks for sticking by me.

Intramuros

Touristy Saturday – Junnebug and co met up with the manila team mates with the initial intention to go for spa, bowling, and a nice dinner out. But because the co were more adventurous and eager to explore the pilipinas, we ended up sightseeing instead. If i had known better, i would have worn my birkies instead of pumps cos my feet hurt with all that walking on cobbled/ uneven roads :(

Nonetheless, a good experience gained from the few hours of walking around. The realization of the state of poverty right on the streets of metro manila made me reflect all over again on how i’ve been taking what i have for granted – families staying on the pavement like it is perfectly normal, no roofs over their heads, kids barebodied/ in oversized shirts, toddlers begging for food and money whenever they see tourist looking people walking by… children rummaging through scrap to find things to use, eat, or play with (i saw a toddler picking up something dodgy on the ground and put it in his mouth!!)…

Its a pretty heart wrenching scene.
Will scour for some photos to share.

Inside intramuros, feris and i bought a banana cake and sprite during teatime to satisfy our hungry tummies. As we walked out of the casa manila, there were a few kids playing by themselves on the streets. 2 of them, upon seeing us, came running up and bashfully raised out their hands as if asking for money. i didnt wana encourage that, so i tried to ignore the one who’s tagging alongside me.  But he was persistent, so i wanted to catch his eye and say no. Who knows he’s not actually looking at me, but was eyeing hungrily at my half-eaten banana cake…. my heart softened and i handed it over to him, which he very gratefully received and ran off – happiness overflowing from his face.

When kids in singapore are reluctant to finish up the food on their plates, these kids dont even have food on their plates to finish. When children back home demand for nintendos and the latest handphones, the filipino street kids live each day as it comes along… without ever knowing what it will bring, without knowing if they’ll have food to eat, or warm clothes to wear, or whethering they’ll be banged down by a car while asking for food/money, whether they’ll be sold to be child labour, or coaxed into the illegal sex industry, or bitten by a hungry stray dog, or contract some disease due to unsanitized conditions…

How can their lives be alleviated when poverty is so rampant?

Without money, they scrap by each day with uncertainties about the future. They wont be able to go to school… which will lead to difficulties getting good jobs to support their family, and ignorance about birth control will lead to the reproduction of too many babies who will suffer the same fate as themselves. A vicious cycle.

And yet, amidst starving toddlers and malnourished children, the street kids find simple pleasure in the most basic of all things in life – such as being together with family, and kicking around an empty aluminium can. They dont have much expectations, and are easily satisfied.

It seems like the more we are given, the more we want.
I do have much to learn from them.

The remedy for a bad tan

Fun people + Great weather + Exciting sport = An awesome day out ytd with a whole load of fun & a very good tan! :)

We were out since 730am in the morning and were back in Singapore at 730pm. Thats one whole day of fantastic wakeboarding experience and, thanks be to God, an amazing weather for our water activity! Although i tried this before it was a ruddy long time ago and it took me a coupla hours before i could get up and get going… haha the smacking face down into the water was damn funny! Except when swallowing a mouthful of disgusting water was involved. Pleh!

I wanted to try doing the stunts but chickened out after a few rounds… i just didnt have the guts to try it! Nevermind… NEXT TIME! Broke my record the other time i wakeboarded though, i hung on for a good 4 rounds before my arms were too wobbly to hold on any longer! Wheee. Those arms, however, are extremely sore right now due to overexertion, probably. Haha. And so are my thighs and shoulders and neck! Oh god i feel like just lying in bed the whole day today.

The harris spa was a damn disappointment though. Massage techniques were amateurish and they cut short our massage time to just 1/2 an hour! Probably to give us time to shower..but then.. how can like that! Im probably never going back again. Holiday inn beats it hands down. Although its like twice the price.. hmmm.

Anyways, I went for Hot yoga after we returned from cableski yesterday. So crazy i know! But i thought perhaps a little bit of good stretching will do me some good after our streneous sports in the day. Hmm cant say it worked damn well but i do believe it helped a little. I didnt feel as sore as the previous time me and shuwei cableski-ed!

Dont know when’s the next time we can go cableskiing again. Sigh.
Life as a senior is not as easy as it sounds.
Just have to pray and hope in the Lord that everything is going to be just fine. :)

Hong Kong Day 4 & 5

Just realised that i dont have the full set of HK Disneyland photos cos my camera memory exploded just halfway through the day and gordon have to continue the snapping using his old casio camera… :(

Therefore, we shall skip day 3 and go straight to the 6th and 7th of June 2009 :)

6th June was a saturday – the day when cindy held her hong kong wedding dinner! So i just hung out at sheung shui the whole day shopping for essentials like a small hairdryer in the loveliest pink, shampoo & conditioner for damaged hair (yes that will be mine), while gordy looked around for good cameras. Then we had to hurry home to prep for the evening!

Dinner was a small but cosy affair with 5 tables at the dad’s favourite restaurant. The 12-course feast was fantabulous! It was crazy delicious although its cheaper and not held at a hotel. Didnt take any photos …cos we had to like, stand there and properly welcome the guests… I’ll get photos from charlie when i have the chance!

On Sunday we went to the church at waterloo road. The speaker they invited was an old lady who was blessed with an intriguing way of putting across her sermons. The service was in cantonese, but although i could only catch 60% of what she said, i was thankful for what i could understand. Then we went to meet Eddie for dim sum at Maxims palace, grand century plaza!

In Memory of David

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. We live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
2 Corinthians 4:16-15:8

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8.31

We will remember you always, dear brother. All your sharings with us - of your love for classical music, your eagerness to help others through God and a pair of healing hands, and your loyalty and love for dear luolin.

We will definitely meet again when we are back in the house of our Lord.

May the love and peace of God which transcends all understanding be with luolin and your family members… comforting them, and reassuring them that you are in God’s safe hands… from now until eternity.

Compleanos Feliz! :)
